About Us

Tex Tubb was really a real person! He was our founder’s uncle, who lived in Austin, Texas, and played music all across the southwest for years. When Kevin Tubb moved to Madison, he made his way to the Food Fight Restaurant Group and teamed up to start a taco joint in honor of his uncle—with a mission to share great tacos and Keep Tubb’s Weird, just like Austin.  

We opened the Taco Palace in 2006 and have stayed true to our roots ever since. Offering authentic tacos and burritos, and fun drinks in a family-friendly environment, we like to think that Tex would still feel right at home here in Madison.
